I think about this book often. I finished it a year ago, my phone reminds me. And the messages in the book have definitely stayed with me. New service: manuscript assessments.
Early last month, I wrote a post about signing a contract with a client to do my first manuscript assessment. Anyway, it went well! I’m really pleased with this testimonial. Honestly, even though it was my first one, I didn’t find it a difficult task. It took me a while, yes, as I was overthinkingContinue reading “New service: manuscript assessments.”

What is proofreading and what is it not?
In a couple of different places online, I posted the instruction to fill in the blank. ๐ข When I send off my book to a proofreader, I expect that proofreader to ____________. ๐ Now, that’s the thing with social media. You don’t always get back what you anticipated. I could have put it into contextContinue reading “What is proofreading and what is it not?”
Your book is your baby โ so find the right babysitter!
The authorโeditor relationship: an analogy: ๐ถ โIโm so proud of my book baby!โ ๐ โHappy book birthday!โ I see a lot of authors using the baby metaphor to describe their books. I can definitely see why. All that time. All that nurturing. And that uncanny reflection where you see parts of yourself staring straight backContinue reading “Your book is your baby โ so find the right babysitter!”
