Mother’s Day or Mothers’ Day? Where should the apostrophe go?

🇬🇧 It’s Mother’s Day here in the UK.

❓ Did you wake up wondering where to put the apostrophe in your mam’s card? 😆

✅ Well, it’s your lucky day as I can confirm it should go between the ‘R’ and the ‘S’.

Yes, more than one mum is celebrating her special day today, but it’s convention to treat it as a singular. It’s the day for your one and only mum.

😁 I’m sure your mom will thank you for a properly punctuated card.

If it’s good enough for NODWE (New Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors) and Collins Dictionary for Writers and Editors, then it’s good enough for me. And my mother. 😅

Happy Mother’s Day mams, mums, moms, mothers. 💐
