What I’m editing in 2021: fantasy, post-apoc and more!

Plague doctors. Post-apocalyptic wastelands. Dragons. 2021 looks exciting!

Of course, I’m talking about the proofreading and editing work I’ve got booked in.

Familiar territory! With some new challenges.

🐲I’m doing a 450000-word fantasy boxset in January to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout. Can’t wait to get stuck in.

😷 In February, I will proofread a co-authored post-apocalyptic novel trilogy. They’ve written parallel point-of-view characters. This is the plague doctor one. Apparently, the idea was hashed out before Covid but the authors have said it’ll feel apposite. The board game Pandemic and films like Contagion and Outbreak have been popular this year so there’s clearly an appetite for this theme!

🔥 I’ll emerge from post-apocalyptic wastelands in March.

If you have any fiction that’ll be ready for a proofread/edit around then, DM me and book your slot. I offer a free 1000-word sample edit before I provide a quote. Shorter edits (e.g. marketing/website copy) can be slotted in, too.

😍 My other areas of expertise are romance, family sagas and, in non-fiction, education and teaching. Check out my recommendations to see the variety of work I’ve done.

I can help you polish your prose for publication in 2021.
