Cherry Edits: making in-roads with traditional publishers.

That’s the proofreading test done for the big ol’ publisher. 🤞

It’s just over two years since I finished P3, my third CIEP training course.

And it was noticeable this weekend as I was finishing off the test sample how much more confident I felt than when I did the final course exercises at the back end of 2019.

It’s like learning to drive. You do most of your learning once you’ve passed the test and you’re having to get on with it on your own.

The proofreading and editing I’ve completed over the past couple of years for ~50 indie and business clients has been where I’ve really cut my teeth.

It’d be nice to get on the publisher’s books as a freelancer but we shall wait and see.

Either way, it’s nice to recognise how things that used to be at the edge of my comfort zone are now firmly within it.
