Do you wax lyrical when it comes to books?

Do you ever give more detail than you’re asked for because you can’t help yourself when it comes to books❓

The Maid by Nita Prose

While out for a mooch on Saturday (in the British sense of pottering about, not in the American sense of scrounging!) my friend and I went in a charity shop I’d last visited the day I was packing for Portugal.

“The last time I was here was two days before my holiday and my Kindle had just died and I came in to grab a last-minute book.

“And I bought ‘The Maid’ by Nita Prose, and I thought initially it was going to be an Upstairs, Downstairs-type thing, but it’s not. It’s a contemporary setting, and the main character is a chambermaid in a hotel, and she goes in to clean someone’s room, and there’s a man lying dead, and she just cleans up around him, and she even straightens up his foot.

“And let’s just say that things get interesting…”

And… And… And… And…

And now I’ve realised I wasn’t even asked a question. My pal just said, “Nice shop. ” 😂

Sometimes my enthusiasm runs away with me when an observation turns into a book synopsis!
